MindFull is a new national Charity set up to help young people to improve and sustain positive mental health, emotional resilience and wellbeing. The site provides 11-17 year olds with tailored support to improve their wellbeing and mental health.
MindFull is the biggest, most dynamic, interactive site I have ever worked on, it is essentially three sites in one. Encompassing live peer to peer mentoring, online counselling with enhanced therapeutic tools, and interactive self help tools.
At each stage of the design and development, focus groups of young people were consulted and gave really useful input. From them we knew it was important for the design to be friendly, accessible, easy to use, engaging and fun. They felt particularly when broaching such difficult issues it was important the site was a bright and friendly place for the young person to escape to – and we agreed.
The result has been a great success, with new users registering and getting help immediately, I am immensely proud of the site, and the potential the service has to offer. Hopefully this is just the start of a revolution in traditionally offline services for vulnerable people being delivered online.
